The writing is great, as always for Alice Feeney. However, after I read Rock Paper Scissors I was expecting twists. The backcover of the book prepares you for twists. But it's actually very different. You end up in a state of unsureness for the whole lenght of the book. I am unsure why but this book gives me huge Scream vibes so if you're a Scream franchise fan, you surely will enjoy your reading.

I am not putting five stars because I felt the book to be a bit long. Also I can see that the author's goal was to loose the reader in constant questionning and I am not a huge fan of this type of writing.

SPOILERS:
I must admit that I feel like the ending is easy. Quite early in my reading I said "I have a feeling it's X and if it is honestly it's too easy" and it was X... Finding out is not the issue, but when the author's main goal is for you not to get it, it's annoying. I ended up reading half the book hoping I was wrong, but I wasn't.

What a fun ride! So many twists and turns, red herrings and false leads. The ending came as an unexpected but exciting shock. seriously couldn't put this one down.

Alice Feeney is truly a talented writer. This book is no exception. If I were rating objectively, I’d give it 5 stars. She’s one of my fave authors for a reason. However, I rate books largely based on my feels. And while I love all the twists and turns in this book, it was on the a-little-too-dark-and-too-twisted side for my personal tastes. So that’s why only 4 stars instead of 5 for me.

But if you have a strong stomach, I highly recommend this book. I second guessed every idea I had all the way to the end and stayed up til 2am finishing because it was just too intense to put down. I love how AF always keeps me unsure even when something seems/should be obvious.
