What a fun ride! So many twists and turns, red herrings and false leads. The ending came as an unexpected but exciting shock. seriously couldn't put this one down.

Alice Feeney is truly a talented writer. This book is no exception. If I were rating objectively, I’d give it 5 stars. She’s one of my fave authors for a reason. However, I rate books largely based on my feels. And while I love all the twists and turns in this book, it was on the a-little-too-dark-and-too-twisted side for my personal tastes. So that’s why only 4 stars instead of 5 for me.

But if you have a strong stomach, I highly recommend this book. I second guessed every idea I had all the way to the end and stayed up til 2am finishing because it was just too intense to put down. I love how AF always keeps me unsure even when something seems/should be obvious.

Definitely a page turner, especially towards the end. Another thriller with a set of narrators I didn’t particularly care for, but still a fun, wild ride!

I liked that there were 3 voices in the audio book. It added something.

A seriously dark thriller/mystery that keeps you feeling the whole way through. Even when you know in your gut what is going to happen next, there are key twists that you never see coming. A truly dark, twisted, and emotional mystery that unravels fully in the end.

Relationships between characters plays a key role in unwinding the plot and the setting of a rainy, cold, English village is a perfect backdrop for a serious of interrelated murders.

Oh my gosh! I thought I had this book figured out from the beginning. I saw the Cat Jones and knew it was Catherine Kelly, even suspected the lady detective! Never ever saw her mom coming into it. Well written, first book I’ve read by Feeny and it did not disappoint, wow, 5 stars for sure.
