Ending pushed it down to 3.75 rather than 4.
Very suspenseful throughout, lots of twists and turns, and the writing style was very easy to digest.
I didn’t really care about the characters to begin with, but towards the end I wanted to know what happened to them (again, slump!)
I think it would’ve been a better plot line without the final twist as I feel we didn’t get a lot of information or backstory for that character enough for it to be as shocking and meaningful as the original culprit.
I did like this story though and I would recommend! It was definitely good to get me out of a book slump as it was continually pulling me in different ways and keeping me engaged.
I will definitely be reading more from this author!

I had such a good time with this book! It hooks you in from the start and I couldn’t stop listening to it! I totally didn’t see the ending coming; I really thought I had it figured out! I already know I’ll be thinking about this book for the next few days!

I recently listened to “His & Hers” audiobook and enjoyed every bit of it! It’s been a while since I’ve read such a good thriller, one that had me wondering who the killer might be! Even though I was sure, after some point in the book, about the killer’s identity, that assumption changed twice as the book was reaching the end!
Anna Andrews is the main TV presenter in the BBC’s lunchtime news. She worked really hard to get there, sucrificing friends, family, her own life and her now ex-husband. But she’s on her dream job now and she’s happy to have it. Only that, that dream may not last. She’s about to lose her presenter’s position and she doesn’t plan to go without a fight! When she is asked to cover a story in Blackdown, the village she grew up, she is reluctant to go. As the story develops, it turns out that the murdered victim is a person she new from school. A childhood friend. Now, she cannot abandon the story. She’s more than just involved with it.
DCI Jack Harper has left London and returned to Blackdown for his own reasons. He expected it to be far more quieter than the big city, so when a body is found in the woods he’s more than surprised. It becomes even stranger for him when he realizes that he not only knows the victim, but he was with her the night before. He decides not to tell anyone about that, but as the investigation proceeds, he becomes one of the suspects. He must find the truth before it is too late.
The book has two point of views. Just as the title suggests, we get to read Anna’s and Jack’s points of view, His & Hers, and somewhere in between, the killer’s view. This is a really good mind trick and the author has done a great job playing games to the reader. I was trying to match the killer’s parts with some of the other two points of view, feeling that one of them must be the killer. One of them is telling the truth and the other one is lying. After all these were the two sides of the same story! It was so difficult!
The experience of the audiobook was magnificent! Richard Armitage was narrating Jack’s point of view and Stephanie Racine was narrating Anna’s. But which one was narrating the killer’s point of view? I have no idea! Neither have I managed to ever understand the difference or the similarities between them. The killer’s narrator was using a voice distorter, so I had no chance finding out! Apart from that, which was a great experience, I really liked all the emotions that both the narrators put in. I could clearly understand the different emotional steps Anna was going through and the same stands for Jack. Overall, I really enjoyed the audiobook experience and I recommend it to everyone!

3.75 The ending was very silly but I had a lot of fun listening to this one. Slow start but the last 50% had me hooked.

it was an entertaining enough read but the reveal of the killer was weak and it fell flat for me
3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I enjoyed this book but at times it would drag and then something exciting happened, and then it would drag again. I will say, I thought I had figured out the ending but was pleasantly surprised by the twist at the end! Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy
