Somehow I knew for sure who the killer was about 30% of the way in but I had no idea what the motive was. Then I get to the motive and I’ve never guffawed so loudly. One of the most bananas, suspend-all-disbelief endings I’ve ever read.

The unnamed mysterious character with the altered voice gave this one an extra level of creepy as an audiobook
Another Alice Feeney book that had me hooked and 98% surprised. I was guessing who had done it differently every few pages and thought I had bested Feeney at one point only for her to probably be sitting back with a cup of tea laughing her ass off. The pace was mostly great though a lot of tell-all and getting quicker at the end but that’s to be expected with a reveal. I loved the multiple point of views and mystery third point of view that eventually became the reveal. This was unique but gave me Gillian Flynn and Rachel Hawkins vibes for anyone looking for that kind of feel.

I thought I was smart and finally figured something out beforehand.. nope! Start of book was slow but wow when it all started to pick up I could not put this down! But I will say I am so mad to find out about the mom and what she did to Catherine at the end. I believe Catherine did not deserve that ending and did not deserve the blackmail and what happened to her children. Chilling, yes, but ugh.
