it's so hard for me to read or watch about infidelity, it makes me sick to my stomach, but god this book can be an exception.
Daisy Jones it's not a girl's girl, but i can't blame her
cause Billy didn't help with that either, Camila deserve  better, she's literally an angel

This is such a good book, the format is awesome for a history like this.

I LOVE IT

The writing layout was different to all the books I have read, the story told and narrated from all the characters; this also made it a easy flowing read.

It touched on topics like substance abuse, love and conflict..and I could relate to somethings.

I thought this book was interesting but it's a like not a love for me. The format of the book, written like an oral history, was interesting but got disjointed at times. It also made it impossible to switch between audiobook and ebook like I prefer.

I liked the fact that the characters who had
passed away didn't have interviews and I'll be honest I didn't even realize Teddy hadn't had one until it was revealed that he passed away. I think that was clever and also a mark of how realized his character felt even through the voice of others.

I think the part that fell flat for me was the ending being so much about
Camila.
Like I guess that makes sense looking back but for me that was the least interesting part of the whole story. And the fact that
Julia is the author was cute I guess but I think it means that more stuff probably happened between Billy/Daisy that we never actually get told because why would anyone tell this kid writing a book after her mom died that.

Not sure I'll watch the show, I like the lyrics and the scenes of them writing the album a lot and heard that is toned down more in the book which lessens my interest for now

There was not even a fraction of enough build up or tension for any of the huge plot points in the narrative to matter as much as they should have. The characterization wavered so much though it started out so strong and that was disappointing. The band’s level of success made no since from the events described and there was no romance between Daisy and Billy, it felt forced and like a shitty enemies-to-lovers at times. I did read this in two days and I couldn’t ever put it down but in the end it was just lacking. I like the made up version in my head more than the reality of it, now I’m actually excited to see how the show changes it (and makes it more interesting because in the end it really isn’t as interesting of a story as it sells itself to be). Also there was a touch of soap opera corniness and ridiculousness that’s kind of hard to ignore at times - an Italian Prince, for instance. And  I don’t like the writing of it enough to pick up any of TJR’s other books but I didn’t completely hate it, I had a fun time reading it’s just that the execution was such a let down to the great concept.
