When I was first reading I didn’t realize it was fiction. It is important to note that I listened to this as an audiobook which I think aided in this. The book is read with a full cast with each character receiving their own person and therefore voice. Each voice seemed perfectly suited for the personality it belonged to particularly Eddie who was portrayed by Fred Berman. His voice is as mean as the character’s attitude which really added to the annoyance one found with him.

This book was full of heartache and fun. There was struggles with addiction and infidelity but mostly it was a story of family and what being in love truly means.

Wow. I can’t believe it took me this long to read this book, but better late than never. As a huge 70s rock n’ roll scene fan I couldn’t put it down. I loved the interview style and can easily say it’s one of the best books I have ever read hence the 5 stars. I’m a big fan of Riley Keough and Suki Waterhouse so I’m excited for the show. I will love this book until the end of time.

Crying score: I started crying for Daisy and I don’t know if I’ll ever stop.

Edit: Reread 3/21/2023
This 5 star will hold up til the end of time. It’s crazy how a second read can help you catch things you missed.
There will never be women greater than Daisy Jones and Camilla Dunne.

well, taylor jenkins reid did it again. that woman has me in the palm of her hand.

just absolutely fucking amazing and groundbreaking. i kept forgetting i wasn't actually reading a book about a real band in the 70's - from the characters to the stories, to the lyrics and to the pain and passion... this was so well researched and written. it didn't feel like just any other historical fiction; it felt like a real story about a real band in a time when sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll were the only things keeping people alive.

- i HIGHLY suggest people listen to the audiobook. i have a physical copy and read it while listening to the narrators' performances (all of them were fucking fantastic) and it really enhanced the wonderful experience this book offers.
