Damn, what a book. Next time, I shall read this intoxicated.

This book really pushed me to tune even more into the importance of intrinsic values over extrinsic. Being enlightened doesnt require deprivation and an impoverished life, but just living in balance and understanding free of judgement. To judge is so human, but going past judgments and being open-minded is key to being happy. I wish to relay what Ive learned from this book (one of the key times Ive learned TRULY important things from reading a novel) to others and keep it constant in my life. What a powerful and fantastic read.

There are concepts in this book which have stayed with me for a long time. It is elegantly written. At times I was frustrated by the hero's poor decisions and the pace.

I enjoyed reading about Siddhartha's spiritual journey to Enlightenment: his rejection of teachings, subjection to vices (although perhaps not murder like Dorian Gray?), and trust of actions over words. To me, his greatest teacher was the courtesan Kamala, who makes him wonder whether he can love.

Good book. just in time too.
Hermann Hesse is always nice.
