'Wisdom cannot be imparted. Wisdom that a wise man attempts to impart always sounds like foolishness to someone else ... Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it.'

A philosophy book that is written so simple, that you can understand every notion of it. I initially thought this was about Buddhism only to understand that this was about self-awakening. Trying to understand what really makes you, 'you'. It is a thought-provoking, deep novel that forces you to ponder whether you are really doing something meaningful in your life. A thoroughly enjoyable read and practical because the author himself struggled hard to get the meaning of life (which he later wrote down in the conclusion). It is not a myriad of incomprehensible, unrelatable philosophical jargons, but rather a sensible inlook into what makes The Buddha so venerable.

Required reading by all human beings.

I read this in high school and decided to revisit it. I did, as I suspected I would, get more out of it this time, but I also bring a great deal more skepticism to it knowing that it's a German writer laying claim to Indian religion. Interesting read, but not a good way to learn about Indian religion.

Harry Styles recommended this book, so I thought I'd read it. A short and insightful read for anyone interested in or familiar with Indian and Buddhist philosophy and mythology. Lots of beautiful quotes relating to spiritual wisdom.

"Pre svega je naučio veštinu slušanja; naučio je da sluša smirena srca i strpljive, otvorene duše, bez strasti, bez želje, bez donošenja suda i razmišljanja."
