I am going to be honest, i only read this because of house of the Dragon since i wanted to have more details to see what should be happening in the tv show, so anything not related to the dance i pretty much didnt pay that much attention. House Targaryen is full of misery bro. like they said its such a great house, the greates, the heros blablab, its literally shi;t after shi;t what happened to them. what they made happen to themselves, because 89% of the bad things here were their own damn fault.
i found moments where I was really into it that wasnt the information about the dance, for example maegor;s part but even if i was getting invested, i couldnt stop thinking: i swear to g;od with this fuc;king family

5 stars. Gripping, dramatic, bloody. I gasped every time a child died horribly (so I gasped a lot). I was looking forward to reading about the mad king Aenys, Rhaegar, and Danaerys in this but it seems GRRM continues to withhold this information from me. I am going to have to read the main series

This is the first book I’ve read of George R.R. Martin’s and what an excellent way to set the tone. This book is a genealogy of House Targaryen and includes all the action, scheming, betrayal, and gore I’ve come to love while watching the show Game of Thrones (and now House of the Dragon). I can’t wait to read his other works and join in the disappointment and frustration of other fans as I await for more to be released.
