Rating on its own, I give it and 4 and enjoyed the book. Compared to The Family Upstairs, I’d rate it a little lower just because I loved TFU so much. TFU was much more haunting, gothic, character-driven and just had more substance. Reading on its own, this was a quick fun read, but I agree with other readers that TFU didn’t really need a sequel.
