That was absolutely amazing! I had never read a thriller sequel before and wasn't sure what to expect but WOW that was sooooo good! I already gave 'the family upstairs' five stars but this one deserves 6 stars at least!!! 😜 I loved every minute of it and the ending was perfection. Definitely a highlight read of the year for me.

3.5 - I didn't like this as much as the first. There were too many POVs in my opinion and the story tied together too conveniently. Also the Phin reveal was lacking tbh

3.5⭐️ rounded up. Audiobook was cool because there were different voices for the main characters, but there are like 20 people you have to keep track of. I had to write down the list of characters, their relationships, and the plot points for the first 1/3 of the book before I felt confident enough to just listen and enjoy (after restarting once). Even then, I would need to refer back to names every so often. And the stupid dog…why was he mentioned so many times?! I kept getting him mixed up as a person since they kept referring to him by name.

The storyline was familiar to me, as I had read The Family Upstairs…but I didn’t put that together until I was almost finished reading. It might have been good to re-read that book before picking this up.

Overall, it was good and the writing kept me interested.

I didn't love The Family Upstairs. I thought it was pretty creepy and too culty for me. But I
