It was typical, in a good way. The story was some somewhat complex. There were fun McGyverish moments, some of the characters were compelling and relationships dimensional. Another fun read by Baldacci.
99. Two ex Secret Service agents are the protagonists of this work. Well written with plenty of intense action makes this a very entertaining novel, and so believable for all the fans of conspiracy theories. As the story proceeds it's hard to tell who is and who isn't to be trusted. I thought it was an excellent novel of what can happen when technology falls into the hands of even a most trusted individual. Excellent read.
Felt this one was not up to Baldacci's best. The dialogue was often stilted and unnatural, and the plot was a mess. Still like the King and Maxwell characters though.

I listened to this on audio and it was a good story and the audio was well done. It even had sound effects! Considering I’ve been in a reading slump, it was nice to get through a book.
This book opens by ALMOST having a guy driving a truck say "I've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there", but sadly this is not a novelisation of Smokey and the Bandit.
This is a thriller and a well done one at that. The conclusion might not be QUITE as exciting as the conclusion of The Sixth Man, but that book just kind of ended with a crazy finale.
This has a lot of great things from the start: Michelle Maxwell seeing that a gun doesn't have a trigger from inside a car in the middle of a rainstorm, a very exciting gun fight in a mall and a good mystery that is both a little confusing and makes sense after a while. There is a moment where the good guys address the bad guy by basically saying "Your plan makes no sense" which the readers were thinking for a pretty big chunk of time by that point.

Big fan of Baldacci. I picked this book up because I enjoyed the TV series with these characters. I was not disappointed.
