Finlay does it again! Book 2 did not disappoint. This time someone wants Finlays ex-husband dead.. and it is not her! T Finlay and Vero find themselves in some sticky situations, hijinks ensue and yet they roll on and find themselves in even more situations that they continue to fix. And then there’s the complicated love triangle. That ending… eek! The dark humor kept me laughing and the mystery stayed a mystery til the end! I am ready for book 3 which I will be starting very soon.

A perfectly serviceable sequel, goes down like water. There's James Bond jokes to be made if you have the energy.
Not at stellar as the first, but still entertaining. Excited for the third!
Decent follow up but it kinda fell flat for me. Still deciding on putting the 3rd on my May tbr

In Finlay Donavon Knocks Em Dead we return to to Finlay about a month after the events In book one. Finlay is terrified to have the children spend time with Stephen after finding out that someone has taken out a hit on him. Finlay puts all of her focus into trying to find out who hates Stephen enough to want him dead. Unfortunately the list is pretty long and as she tries to stay under the police radar she ends up going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole, uncovering deep secret best left undug.
I actually liked this one slightly more than the first. I really liked the holiday family time happening on the outskirts of Finlays investigation. As always Finlay jumps the gun and makes really poor choices. But they work out because everyone sees her as a completely unthreatening white woman. And honestly I love that for her. I think I will read at least one more book in the series before the shtick stops being entertaining.
