Oh Tilly & Ollie. These two beautiful souls who are so misunderstood by the world, grew up in two very different kind of environments, both neurodivergent and very different - yet fit together absolutely perfectly.

I wish I had the power to read the book, love it, and then pick up and choose to forget everything about it just so I can experience it again. And again. And again. And again.

How does Mazey Eddings write her characters so deeply that you feel like you are living in their heads. Like you are experiencing the world through their eyes. Like you are swimming through their thoughts. How does she manage to create two characters that make you feel seen and heard and understood??

I can’t speak enough good things about Tilly in Technicolor. I love everything about this book. This is also the first kindle book that I’ve highlighted many passages and lines because I felt them so deeply in my soul.

Mazey Eddings - how the fuck do you manage to write such amazing works of art? And PLEASE never stop writing.

HUGE THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND WEDNESDAY BOOKS FOR GRACELESSLY SENDING ME THIS ARC. The review is 10000000% my honest and unbiased feelings and I can’t wait to get my pre-ordered copy so I can devour this book again and again.

Thanks to St. Martin's Press, Wednesday Books, and NetGalley for the advanced readers copy!

Tilly is 18 and looking forward to a summer away in Europe to spread her wings. She is seated by a very cute boy named Oliver and then all hell breaks loose! After a terrible flight, Tilly and Oliver find out they are going to be working together for the whole summer, and minor detail, but they'll be sharing a room too.

Absolutely adored this book. The only complaint is that I want moreee!!
I got this through the giveaway I entered on here, and because I have ADHD its hard for me to read the summaries of books bc then I feel like I can't commit to reading the book. (This might now make sense, but it does in my head)
But, seeing that this book is about two people, one with ADHD and another who is autistic, it felt like this book was meant for me.
Finished this book a bit ago, and I keep thinking about it. Growing up with ADHD, and unmedicated, was sooo difficult, so being able to read a book where someone so perfectly described what it was like inside my head, and trying to live my life when everything feels like it's going so fast and uncoordinated meant so much to me.
This story was so beautiful, truly made my heart swell. If you have the chance 100% must read this book.

Reading a Mazey Eddings book feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket while laying in the sunshine. She is a favorite of mine, a true comfort author. This book was phenomenal!

Hey, I’m here. I exist and I’m different and I want you to notice, even if I’m not super brave and just showing that in the smallest way possible.

I just want to write something that makes people feel seen.

I could truly go on and on and write a whole review of quotes that stuck with me, but I’m not going to do that. What I am going to do is tell you about the second quote. Tilly wants to write that. Mazey Eddings DOES write that, somehow in every single piece of her work, she has the uncanny and wonderful ability to make me feel like she’s dipped inside my head and looked at my thoughts and feelings and written about them to make me feel less alone. This book was no different. Tilly and Oliver’s journey was one of struggle but also one of beautiful acceptance and unabashed joy and love for who you are, which I think we all need a little bit of these days. It transported me to each and every country the caravan of characters traveled and their victories felt mine, their defers felt like mine, and the little rushes of anxiety and happiness and fun and anger and all the things felt like mine. This book had a way of pulling me inside of it and it didn’t want to let go. I guess it helped that I didn’t want to leave either, because I was hoping my book was defective and there was more! I have never had anything but praise to say about Mazey’s books and this is no exception. Main characters, side characters, battles, resolutions, emotions, and smiles? What more could you want.

The sky wishes it could be as lovely as Tilly Twomley.

4.0

4.5!! I’m not generally a YA reader but this was…everything. To know that the younger generation has access to books about life just makes my heart so happy. I’ve been a firm believer in accepting people as they are and embracing differences…but unfortunately, I am not the norm. People can be so cruel, sometimes without even trying. This book did such a beautiful job of shedding light onto social differences and the need to talk about those differences with the people you love. This little book was packed with a variety of representations: LGTBQ, mental health, ADHD, autism…and even though I don’t fall into all of those categories, the author did a wonderful job of making me truly FEEL and understand each character. Love. Love. LOVE.

Holy moly. The representation of neurodiversity, and not only the fact it’s there and the fact it was done well blows my mind. I’m so insanely happy to find a romance book where the topics of adhd and autism aren’t taboo first off but also the neurodiversity is the focal point makes me feel like bouncing off the walls. The romance and story itself was also insanely well written, I’m just so happy to find a book that points out although they aren’t their condition they still have to live with it, and therefore it’s going to affect their romance. Ahhh, loved this so much!!!

Every single star. I'll be thinking about what I learned about neurodiversity from Tilly and Ollie for the rest of my life. Love them and this book.

DID NOT FINISH: 33%

I was really excited to read this for the autism representation specifically, but I've been so picky with romance lately. I didn't like the romance, so Oliver's chapters were boring to me since his entire personality was taken over by an obsession for Tilly early on in the book. Tilly's relationship with her mom and sister was interesting, especially when it came to their ableism towards her ADHD and I might have kept reading to see how that developed and the confrontation I assume would have happened, but I was mostly just bored.
