I've read A Christmas Carol countless times, listened to endless audio versions, and watched just about every movie/tv adaptation there is. Reading it is still the best experience, but somehow reading this version, seeing Dickens's handwriting side by side with the printed words, seeing what he scribbled out, what was a correction, and how he wrote every bit of this manuscript adds a layer of joy, excitement, and Christmas Spirit to the experience. Wonderful version.

This was my 219th book finished in 2025.

I've read o my one thing by Charles Dickens - Great Expectations, and I didn't really have a good time. I swore off him, but I did always say I would give A Christmas Carol a go. I'm glad I did, because I actually liked it a lot.

It was a curious choice to read it in August, but it was still just as wholesome.

It made me feel very emotional at times. Poor boy. I ended up sobbing in one part. What a powerful story that really hit quite close to home in some aspects.

I love, love, love this book and story. I've started to collect various versions of the book. I was in England during most of the Christmas season and loved reading it by the lights of my Christmas tree. A beautiful story of change and redemption.
