Been on my reading list for many a year! So glad I finally got around to it! Do yourself a favour and give this classic a read!!!

Вічна класика, культова історія з атмосферою свята

Film lepszy.

Almost a month after Christmas, and I've finished "A Christmas Carol."

Most of us know the story, so I won't recap that. My knowledge of the tale however, had been limited to that of Scrooge McDucks and little Mickey Mouse eared Tiny Tims. This was my first Charles Dickens experience, and I liked it. His writing doesn't sound as pretentious as some of the other classics. It flows very nicely and sounds beautiful but is still very easy to understand. The story itself is pretty simple, so it was the language that really kept me reading. I felt it was wrapped up a little too quickly at the end but wasn't expecting a big climatic ending anyhow.

I'm really giving this a 3.5 because it is a classic and a sweet little tale, but it lacked the substance and staying power I crave. At the end of the day, I'll still just remember the basic storyline and that Charles Dickens wrote well.

One of my favorite books/stories of all time. I was probably 8 years old when I read the first version, a children's pop-up book. I've also seen an adapted version read/performed in Boston at the Omni Parker House several times - the same hotel where Dickens stayed while finishing a performance version and where he himself read it to audiences.

I think this may be my most favorite piece of literature. A Christmas Carol brings my hearts so much joy and good tidings. God bless us everyone!
