Cringe. DNF.

Note: I listened to the Audiobook and the production was phenomenal in my opinion. It’s so rare for me to get this into listening versus reading but WOW.

Just when you think you’ve figured this out, something else comes for you! It’s clever, twisted, and brilliant. Also love the Jane Eyre inspiration! It’s brilliantly woven in.

Can’t wait to read more Rachel Hawkins!

Good. Not "blow your hair back" good, but good.

A story of murder, disappointment, life struggles and finding where you fit into the world. I would not say this book excellently executed any particular thing; however, the whole package kept me reading and wanting know more. More about the characters, more about the murder and more about life choices they took to end up where they were. Nothing blew me away but I was intrigued. 3.5 stars

It was an okay book. I wouldn’t say it was a feminist retelling of Jane eyre, but it was a decent mystery.

More of a 3.5. Quick read!
