This book's main character May was one of the Murder Most Unladylike (Hazel) sister. Set In WW2 this book was a historical mystery full of twists and turns and full of lies and plays. A tale of heartwarming diverse friendship. Although May, Fiona and Erich were 11 and 12, they were full of wit and they felt realistic like actual people not just characters. I have read the prologue series 'Murder Most Unladylike' it was a great series. To my delight, this Ministry Of Unladylike Activity has come out and it outshone itself. Thank you Robin Stevens. This was an amazing book.

This book is the first book in a spin-off series to Murder Most Unladylike, which I LOVED so much (however you can read it on its own). Instead of focusing on Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong, it focuses on Hazel's little sister May, along with Eric and Fionnuala. The book starts with May, who escapes school to try and find a spy; but instead she stumbles straight into a murder scene. It is blamed on a gang of attackers that came into the house through the French window from the wet outside and left without a trace.

But there was no mud on the carpet.

I thought this book was great and hit me with nostalgia from Robin Stevens' previous books. I would 100% recommend it to everyone but mostly to younger people (10+?) in particular. I am a bit biased, but I give it 5/5 stars.

Robin Stevens' books are like Agatha Christie for younger readers and let me tell you, I eat it up. I don't think the pace of this new series was perfectly set -- i.e., I found it oddly slow for the amount of action happening in the plot -- but it was nevertheless joyous to spend a few evenings in the company of May, Eric, and Nuala. Fun fun.
