This was by far the best book in the series. Pip!!! Crazy how she went from solving murders to covering one up. loved it!

Would have rated higher but after that last chapter

This book made me feel too much to not give it five stars, my God. Ms. Holly Jackson, you are WRONG for that epilogue! Anyway, I got literally the biggest spoiler of the book/spoiler before I finished it so that may have skewed my perspective a bit but I still absolutely ravaged this book. I don't want to spend this entire review responding to the main criticism of the one star reviews but I just have to say Pip acting out of the character...is kind of the entire point of the series? She's been through too much to stay the same character that she was in the first two books. She watched someone die in her hands. That changes a person. Her acting out of character is not a concern for me because I understand why she is the way she is. So moving on from that, if I had to give one criticism to this book I wish there was more mystery. In the first two books Pip does a lot of sleuthing and interviewing people and there wasn't much of that in this book. When it seems like that's where the book is going that's when the second part happens/spoiler. Moving on, this book was an amazing finale. I feel like this kind of what the entire series was leading up to. /spoiler It was a rollercoaster the entire way through and just *chef's kiss*. Holly Jackson's writing especially with Pip's trauma is great, the entire cycle with who the DT Killer is and how it's basically the entire reason for this reason for this season is very well though out and I'm devastated and satisfied with how the series ended.

While I did enjoy this book, and was happy to see the conclusion of the trilogy, I did not like this third installment of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder as much as the first two. First, while the topics were always pretty dark - murder, sexual assault, etc. - this book felt much darker and heavier than the first two. And while I felt myself rooting for the main character Pip - because of where the story went, it was a lot harder to root for her in As Good As Dead, than in the other books. This was true right from the outset - and stayed true until the end. Maybe it was a frustration with Pip being both way too mature for her age while simultaneously being completely immature - or maybe it was my current mindset - but I felt constantly disappointed with Pip's choices, and her unwillingness to seek support when she so badly needed it - especially since she clearly had such a genuinely caring support network, a fact she acknowledged several times. There were also some moral inconsistencies and some threads that I wish they had pulled on a bit more. It also really could have gone a totally different direction. The darkness permeated the entirety of the story, where in the other two there seemed to contain more levity and distraction.

Girl let the boy go.
