I wanted to love this book.
Truly.
However, whomever edited it did it a great disservice.
I prefer to be lost in a book and its characters, but when “Charlotte” becomes “Georgiana” from one paragraph to the next, when she is then referred to as Miss Butterfield instead of Butterworth, and whole passages are repeated to the point that I have to re-read the page to ensure I’m not seeing things, well, it’s hard to stay immersed in the story.
Further to that, bits of the story felt disjointed and drawn out for no purpose other than to extend word count.
With a good editor, this could have been a darling romance, but I found it rather disappointing.

Well, I did enjoy the story, but I liked it a lot better when it was L.M. Montgomery's The Blue Castle. The similarities are definitely there.
Charlotte discovers that she has a heart defect and will be dead before the end of the year. The dashing duke that she met unexpectedly offers to marry her and she takes him up on the offer.
The novel was well-written and apparently part of a series. I would maybe read at least one more novel in the series before deciding if I'd like to read the complete series.

It was cute, but... I just didn't get it. I didn't get the feel of love or real romance, just of convenience and appreciation? I dunno. I wasn't impressed with this story too much.

This was a short and sweet read. It was completely predictable and that’s OK. If you want some fluffy romance that you can finish quickly, this is a good choice.

I haven't read the previous book in the series but I had no trouble dropping into this story. I found it quite amusing as these types of books go. There were a number of humorous scenes and a bit of romance and a relatively smart heroine, albeit not as sensible as she might be. Everything works out in the end and I assume they lived happily ever after.

This was a predictably fun book with everything I wanted it to be.

Super cute. 1 pepper spice level. A little over the top. A few mistakes. But not so much as to distract from the story. Really enjoyed. Callum and Charlotte were a breath of fresh air.
