I listened to the audiobook of this, which had a very satisfying amount of "pew pews", space ship noises, wookiee sounds, and star wars music.

This book was definitely full of YA cheesiness. It takes place during the first 3 star wars movies from the perspective of 2 people who are a part of the empire. Which I found really interesting.

I thoroughly enjoyed turning my brain off for this.

Second Review: 4.75/5
Rereading this book was a solid reminder about why this is one of the best Star Wars books ever written. It captures the love between these two characters while adding depth to them by using the characters’ background to drive their beliefs and actions. I will say though, the one thing I’m curious about is the ending.
By ending with the book with the Nash scene rather than ending it with the previous scene makes me wonder whether Claudia Gray was thinking of writing a sequel or planning a sequel after this book. If so, please do. I would love to read more about Ciena’s and Thane’s story.

First Review: 4.75/5
Wow, what a book. When we look at the events of the original trilogy, we always think of Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader and that battle. We never actually see the point of view of Imperial officers and Rebel soldiers during these iconic events.  It takes this series of events and humanizes it by putting it in the perspective of Thane and Ciena. Claudia Gray also balances the love story and conflicts between opposing sides very well, and I really enjoyed it. I very much understand why this is one of the best Star Wars books ever written.
