Midnight in Death

J.D. Robb

3.96 AVERAGE

I liked this little novella. I almost wish Midnight in Death and Holiday in Death had switched places. I liked seeing the results of one of Eve's cases. I mean so far we've seen her catch the killer(s), but we've not seen anything happen after-the-fact. This book picks up immediately after Holiday In Death. We are still dealing with Christmas and we are taken into the new year. it kind of signifys things ending and everything kind of starting over. Like I said I would have liked to have seen this in full length. There were times that the transitioning was a little confusing. Eve would be at Cop Central and the next sentence she would be home. Sometimes I would have to read over some passages again. Other than that minor thing I really enjoyed it. For those who don't know, this novella can be found in the anthology [bc:Silent Night|129527|Silent Night (includes In Death, #7.5)|J.D. Good book

This was a quick read. The story connects to Holiday in Death. It feels somewhat rushed which is why I didn't give it as high of a rating. It lacked the depth of the other books. It still is worth the read.

For a novella it had all the suspense and character development from the full blown books... still wish it was longer... Love these books

The one where Eve faces an escaped serial killer on New Years. A fun small novella.

She sat up now, raking her hair back. “I want you to wear a bracelet.”
He lifted a brow. “I will if you will.”
A muscle in her cheek jumped as she set her teeth. “I phrased that incorrectly. You’re going to wear a bracelet.”
“I believe such things are voluntary unless the subject has committed a crime.” He sat up himself, caught her chin in his hand. “He won’t get to you through me. That I can promise. But if you expect me to wear NYPSD accessories, you’ll have to wear a matching one. Since you won’t, I don’t believe this conversation has a point.”

This was a nice, quick and easy read. I love the JD Robb series and watching the relationship between Eve Dallas & her husband Roarke. The relationships in these books are very true to life and make it enjoyable to imagine what will change about our lives in the future.

Since this was a novella, it moved a lot more quickly than a typical JD Robb novel, but that worked perfectly for the pace of this story. It was another excellent read and was quite enjoyable for my commuting day.

Quick little Eve Dallas short bringing a case from the past back right after the events of the last book.
As always I enjoyed seeing everyone.
