Not usually a big western romance girly, having grown up in a farming community and finding it largely over romanticized. But damn Blue Rebel Ranch got me. Loved the neurosivergent representation, as well as the family elements present in this story. I'm also a sucker for a MMC who takes control and talks dirty.

Sometimes you need a quick feel good, giggling and kicking your feet story and that’s what this book did for me. I love the brothers best friend trope, and the keep your hands off her vibes. Also i’m always in for a Western story.

this was good but it was very tell not show, if that makes sense. i feel like we didn’t get a lot of development on pages, we were just told that it was happening and had to take the author’s word for it.

per my spreadsheet:

fun love story, fun spice, fun character development- but I need more conflict lol

spice 🌶  - a 4 🌶  spicy (romance.io scale)
length - just right
reading speed - read in 4 days
did it make me cry? - a lil

Overall, I enjoyed this. Were there some ick moments that pulled me out of the story? Yes. I wish there had been more pining and tension - more "will they/won't they". It's a decent cowboy romance that could have benefited from more showing and less telling. +5 points for female ADHD representation, though. Additional bonus points for no third act break up.

Tropes:
Cowboy romance, brother's best friend, family first

This was a cute, quick read for me! I did enjoy it for the most part, however I will say that some parts leaned more toward that "slice of life" feeling rather than plot heavy (which I know some people enjoy, I just personally prefer plot heavy things).

Another thing I will say is that the author's writing style does feel a bit more fanfic-y to me rather than romance novel writing, which didn't bother me that much because I'm an avid fanfic reader and writer, but I would maybe skip on this one if you have a specific style of writing you like. Overall though, very cute and light read.
