This is a fantastically soapy historical romance chock full of humor and competence porn. The relationship between Rose and faux footman Alex was delightful to watch. I enjoyed the cameos from past couples. And I loved that Rose is a mapmaker.  I highly recommend especially if you’re looking to diversify your England times reading. Alex is biracial and the book also explores the tug of war he felt between his upper class English status and his merchant class Arab heritage.

i liked the perceived class difference and the fact that she was married so it could set up some drama and pivots of the plot. i felt very VERY weird about how they had sex a couple times while he was still lying to her about who she was. like they even did it when he was about to tell her but got delayed by the need to get his dick wet.

This was SO good! I feel like the last 20ish% were a little lackluster, but loved everything else! Excited to read more by this author!

This is exactly what I look for in historical romance, the pacing was perfect, the premise was intriguing, at times it made me laugh and the characters were so lovable. The issues were all resolved satisfyingly, I love it when scummy characters get what they deserve.
I wouldn't change anything about this book, it was a good light read.

Not as cute as book 2 but still enjoyable! Wish they'd had more chemistry after the reveal and I wish he'd been the one to reveal it. She really loves her plots and I do too but I feel like I want more chemistry ? Idk the dialogue can sometimes be stilted and repetitive and I just want more!!

“Unfortunately, Brandon genuinely liked Rose Fleming. He admired her looks, of course, but also her sense of humor and how easily she laughed at herself. Her intelligence and assertiveness. Her business acumen. Her love of terrible hats.”⁣

Her love of terrible hats. That was such a cute through line between the two main characters in this book. ⁣

I loved this historical romance despite it having one of my least favorite tropes: secret identity. This plot was complicated, but compelling and super unique. There are fun touches to this historical romance you don’t get always: strong, accomplished women in business, Arab representation in Regency England, mapmaking and cartography, a look at the relationship between a household and its servants. ⁣

I flew through this book needing to know how Rose and Alex would get to their happy ever after. It was romantic, sweet, and satisfying.
