Ruth Ware may not be an auto-buy author for me anymore. She has a way with words, but her plots have had more misses than hits for me. This one ended with one of my least favorite tropes in writing history.

Quite good. Well written and uses penetration testing in an informed and not cringy manner.

3.5⭐️ pretty fast paced and exciting, not sure why there is so much hate for this one. Definitely not her worst. I wouldn’t normally wouldn’t choose a tech thriller but it was fun.
This was so different from what Ruth Ware usually writes and, unfortunately, it wasn't for me.
It's about online security, cyber threats and secrets for which I couldn't care less, it's just not my thing. Still, I got over that and focused on the race to find the culprit, but that wasn't even intense or terrifying. It was just the main character and her non-stop thoughts. It's like she was on repeat, I couldn't take it anymore after a some point.
Then, the "murderer" was so obvious, I guessed it from, let's say, the first mention of him, don't want to reveal anything:))
In the end, it was a disappointing read for me, my fave remains The turn of the key, highly recommend it!

Thoroughly exhilarating, and the audio narration is one of the best I’ve ever heard. Could not put it down.
