An insta-attraction, slow-burn romance with a protective cop....oooooh yeah!!

Zander Landry is super adorable. He secretly reads romance books and his inner monologue regarding all of the romantic thoughts that twist around the new blonde in town are so funny. He may just be my favorite Landry yet.

Zander is very aware of the Landry love curse. He's been a first hand witness to all of his family members falling in love one by one, so when he first meets Caroline, he isn't shocked of feeling big things. However, he still fights getting stuck in love because he's very happy being a bachelor. Zander is also very aware of all of the romantic feelings with all of the romance books he reads. He's no dummy, but he continually berates himself that he needs to switch up his reading to something else. It's hilarious.

Zander is uber protective of his town, his family, and even Caroline the moment she steps foot in Autre. It's in his nature to make sure everyone who enters his town is safe and that no funny business happens while strangers are there. Caroline definitely brings danger, funny business, and a hot package all wrapped up in one. The quicker she leaves the better he'll feel, he hopes.

Caroline is super cute and no dummy. She just might be the perfect fit for not only Zander, but the entire big, boisterous Landry family. Zander needs to work fast on getting her out of his town if he wants to keep his bachelor status. LOL.

I loved, loved, loved this new addition to the Boys of Bayou collection and don't worry this isn't exactly the end of this beloved family. Erin gives us a peek into where she's taking the Bayou Boys and I'm really excited on the new adventure.

Say It Like You Mane It
Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild
By: Erin Nicholas
Narrated by: James R. Cheatham, Desiree Ketchum

Characters like Zander always capture my attention. He is a protector by nature and is happy with his little bubble where he knows where everyone is and can keep them safe. That's why he's a cop! Now Caroline has literally flown into his life. A beautiful woman with a lion cub in a wedding dress looking for Donovan, she is quite a presence. But all of her game playing is stunted immediately and when she shows her true self, Zander is captivated. But so many question arise now, and these two are going to get to the bottom of it. Where did Caroline's ex-fiance get the cub, and how many more wild animals are there being held captive or being sold? How can Caroline find out? Who is trying to find her? How will Zander keep this amazing spirited woman safe? I am in love with this man. He knows what he wants, it's simple. He's loyal to a fault and loves with his whole heart. Caroline has finally met her match, but she may not be happy living in a small town. While she isn't sure what she wants to do, she knows there is more for her to accomplish in her life. How will these two figure it out? And what will become of the lion cub? Great banter, fun seeing our old friends from the previous stories, and a touch of suspense make this an entertaining listen. Erin Nicholas loves to transport me right into the bayou and I love it!

James R Cheatham and Desiree Ketchum are our storytellers and they are fantastic! Cheatham falls in to character as Zander. I love all the tones he uses, from the jealous crazed man to the over protective lover. He is in the head of Zander and gives us all his doubts and feelings. Ketchum is a favorite, and I love how she portrays Caroline. This girl is not sure about life, but Ketchum finds a way to show her strength as she wades through her insecurities and finds the woman she is meant to be. This is a wonderful pairing and a great listen.

Every time I read an Erin Nicholas book I can’t stop smiling and usually laughing too. She has such a knack for making you want to be a part of the family in the story. Being part of the Landry’s would be a blast.

Reading through the series, you knew it was going to take a special kind of woman to take Zander down. Caroline was definitely up for the task!!

This was my first listen by Erin Nicholas. I have spent a bunch of time in Louisiana so I really appreciated the bayou nods. Caroline & Zander story starts out with a bang but things aren't always the way they appear. Really enjoyed the storyline & happy that Zander & Caroline got their HEA! Excellent narration by Desiree Ketchum & James R Cheatham. James is a new to me narrator & I really enjoyed his narration.

This was such a good read! The writing flowed well from start to finish, and I LOVED Zander and Caroline together! One of my favorite lines that summed up their relationship was Zander's thought of "He didn't want it, but he wasn't about to blow that spark off as nothing either. In fact, he was going to treat it with care and respect. Like a bomb" If that wasn't Zander and Caroline in a nutshell I don't know what was! I loved that they complemented each other so well. Zander was able to let Caroline be "normal" for once, and Zander was able to let Caroline take some of the burden from his shoulders. As usual the Landry family is awesome, and really one of my most favorite families from a book series, ever. The love they have for each other is just awesome. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book in this series!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I am a HUGE fan of this author and the fictional town she’s created for us. After meeting Zander in previous stories, it was so great to get to dive into his world and see things from his angle. Caroline was an interesting character, sweet but sassy, with a big, kind heart. The storyline took a turn towards the end that I absolutely did not expect, but was a great way to wrap up those loose ends. Griffin is still my fave, but Zander definitely gave him a run for his money!

This story had me laughing out loud in the first few pages and can best be described as zany. Zander is the tough town cop, stoic and unemotional. He likes everything to be calm and relatively uneventful because when there’s action in Autre, it’s usually something crazy that means a lot of work for him. His life is turned upside-down by one stunning blonde in an expensive wedding dress who walks into his family’s bar with a lion cub. He doesn’t want to get attached to Caroline Holland but he doesn’t have a choice because he falls hard from the moment they meet.

Caroline’s life is complicated so the six-figure wedding dress and engagement ring are no big deal, even if she ran out on the wedding carting a lion cub along with her. She’s spent the last few years reveling in everyone’s perception of her as a ditzy, airhead socialite because it lets her fly under the radar, doing good in her own way. They’re a classic example of opposites attract and it’s more than physical.

Zander’s a diehard romantic but he’s scared. Caroline’s confused because her life is in shambles and he seems to good to be true. Their story is fun but it’s the town that makes it great. The history and many characters of Autre are what stole my heart here, even more than the hot cop or lovable heroine. Their story is funny, steamy with a touch of suspense and it’s a fun read.

Zander and Caroline’s runaway bride meets grumpy small town cop story was unique and laugh out loud funny. Their witty banter ignited an undeniable chemistry that made the sexy scenes red hot. I fell in love with the Landry clan and the residents of Autre. They were all bighearted and genuine and willing to give the shirts off their backs. An entertaining listen that was fun and refreshing and I didn’t want to end. The epilogue was the perfect tease. It left me wanting to get my hands on the next book in this crazy addictive series.

James R. Cheatham and Desiree Ketchum do an incredible job of bringing Erin Nicholas’ rom-com to life.

Zander's HEA...might we say saving the best for last for Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild??

You knew from the end of the last book that this was going to be a doozy & boy was it! Caroline and her lion cub and her wedding dress. Zander is just the Landry to get to the bottom of Caroline's predicament. More importantly Caroline is just who Zander needs. Zander isn't safe from the Landry "curse"...thankfully!

We also find out a lot of Zander's "back story" & secrets. He is well deserving of his HEA as is Caroline.

Once again Ellie has some wonderful lines and what Caroline does for the new wall at Ellie's Bar...wow, tissues needed for sure, in a wonderful way!

Fantastic Read!! Can't wait for the stories for the "Badges": Spencer, Theo, Wyatt and hopefully Michael too.
