This is the kind of manga that restores my faith in the German manga market. The fact that they publish this kind of series (as well as Kano Miyamoto and Shoko Hidaka) makes it impossible for me to really hate Carlsen, even if they screw up other series and publish inane books like "Juicy Cider".

"Acid Town" is set in a dystopic future and it's about several boys trying to survive in that world. Its tone is rather dark, but the great thing about this series is that the focus isn't on the BL part at all (that's only hinted at so far), but on the world building, the story and the characters. Such a refreshing read after some of the stupid things I've been reading recently.

Oh, and the art is lovely, too.

Hot very boring and sort of political at the end. Not focussing on the genre at all. Which is disappointing. I picked it up because of its genre.

Confusing but loved the artwork

I can accept that this may have been one of the earlier mangas with these tropes: guy with sad story involved in shady business to make money for his family. Unfortunately, a past sexual assault/harassment (implied at least) is also commonly in this type of character’s backstory. As well as the person that’s clearly in love with them and the Mc doesn’t seem to notice. While I acknowledge that, created in 2009, this book may have been one of the earlier stories with those tropes/themes, it didn’t make this story any more unique to me.

I wasn’t super invested in any of the characters and the story isn’t a new one.
