I appreciate the message the author attempted to convey in this book, but personally I just couldn't connect to the story, despite reading over half of the book

This book made me cry.

After watching Midnight Diner, izakaya bottakuri and Kantaro: The Sweet Tooth Salaryman I was definitely interested in Japanese food…specially Sweet bean paste and that’s when I found this book.
The characters in the book are simple but the way this story is knit and the message it carries is deep.
We aren’t born just to be a useful member of society…our lives have a meaning no matter what ❤️

There are some books that leave a lasting imprint on your mind, books where you turn the last page, and have to sit and stare at the wall for a while to gather your thoughts. And every time you pass by the book in a bookstore, you smile because you know the story is going to touch the heart of the person who reads it, as it did yours.

Sweet Bean Paste is that and much more.

Poignant, lyrical writing, memorable heartfelt characters, and a beautiful story!

emotional inspiring

Was a solid 3 star until the last 15% of the book. I had never thought about how much stigma there was around leprosy
