This was short and sweet (maybe too sweet) - I finished the audiobook in a day - but I can't say it'll leave a lasting impression.

I've watched the movie adaptation back then, and while it didn't leave a deep impression on me, it was a good movie. And I thought the book would be better, if not slightly.
Sweet Bean Paste is a story about Sentaro, who worked at Doraharu to pay his debt. But the sale wasn't good at all after Tokue, an old woman, came to his shop and offered to work there, helping him making sweet bean paste.
The actress who played Tokue had passed away. Maybe that's one of the reason why I wanted to read this book. But sadly, it was boring. I couldn't wait for the book to be finished. Reading it in a tight deadline was a torture.
I'm aware that this book has a great morale in it. I found some, if not most, of the things said in the book are true, and it's a pleasure for me to learn about life and how we should live in it from this. But the morale doesn't goes along with the passage, I'm afraid.
Nonetheless, it still is a good story. Maybe my impression would be different if I read it in a different moment.
Ps: I think it needs an epilog.

I need a physical copy of this book RIGHT NOW.
