Amazing. it talks about seeing life in different prespective and listening to the world. carefully listening and observing around us. it's about a guy works in a cafe making a sweet and always fails but then someone comes and changes prespectives and gives him meaning to life.

also, I learned alot about leprosy disease and the experience in the society.

I’m quite disappointed that this was not as cathartic as I thought it would be. I learned so much about the Japanese leprosy prevention law and it broke my heart how so many people did not deserve such suffering. Too bad, it was not too moving. I liked how the author (in his notes) challenged Japan’s concept of one’s purpose in life — to be useful in a society. This book opened my eyes to the fact that some people, despite their desire to do so, could not be “useful” parts of a society — especially one that is as confining as their national sanatoria.
