The parenting and general philosophies of this book resonate with me. I’m a sucker for scripts!

Before I read this, I’d seen Dr. Becky’s Instagram posts and have listened to her podcasts. What I appreciate most is her statement that it’s never too late to parent in a way that feels good to you. I also love a good script to help me through emotionally charged but common situations (i.e. sharing toys, losing games, etc), which are plentiful here. This book isn’t about parenting perfectly, but about growing, repairing, and showing up with empathy; it’s about building deeper and more connected relationships with our kids while also *healing and growing ourselves*.

I will say no parenting book is the end all be all. Like with any other parenting books, or “self-help” books in general, read it if you want to, take what you need, and move on. If you liked this, I’d recommend No Bad Kids by Janet Lansbury, too. She also has a podcast. K bye.
