I was sadly disappointed by this collection of poetry. I thought that most of it would be an enlightening call to action but unfortunately I felt that most of it went over my head and focused on different topics such a race, religion, and sexual assault. While I appreciated the importance of those topics, it was nothing I personally could relate to. I think if I were a minority, I could have gotten more out of this collection. In the end, I was simply left wanting more.

This collection of poetry centers women, femme, and gnc experiences and also intersects with perspectives from women of color and queer identifying people. Despite this there was no sort of smaller theme amongst all the poems, and I was a bit confused as to how they were grouped in each section because there didn't seem to be any common threads or obvious reasons as to why certain pieces got placed with others within their chapters. I do appreciate poetry and short written pieces but the majority of these ones didn't hit me hard enough for me to remember them. However, there were 2 pieces that stuck out to me and I'd rate them individually from the collection as 5 stars - "An Open Letter to the Protestors Outside the Planned Parenthood Near My Job" by Elizabeth Acevedo and "In Support of Violence" by Christopher Soto.

This was majorly confusing, slow and disappointing. I was expecting more impact but did not receive it.

Something to go back to, and digest slowly.

I really loved this poetry collection! There were a wide range of works from diverse perspectives. If one poem doesn't interest you, you can turn the page for a completely different writing style. There is probably something in this collection that will set fire to you.

Some of my favorite poets from the collection were Denice Frohman, Kwame Dawes, Laura Fairgrieve, and Safia Elhillo.

This collection makes me want to curate my own collection of feminist poetry!

This was great. There were some poems in here that I loved and will definitely check out the work of the contributors. Most poems were just okay for me though, but that's always inevitable when it comes to poetry anthologies, objectively everything in here was great.

I enjoyed this book. I found myself highlighting a lot but also looking up a lot after reading. It kept me on my toes and I learned things I didn’t expect to while reading.

This is a great selection of excellent poetry. With poetry coming from women of all different backgrounds, ths book encompasses light hearted moments and incredibly hard-hitting poetic moments that make you take a breath, this book has the perfect title for what it holds inside.

Covering a wide variety of topics from the power of the pantsuit to surviving trauma, this book covers a wide range of topics from own voices that truly feels like a fightback against the world these women inhabit. Poems such as ‘The March’ by Achy Obejas for me really represent that feeling and it makes for such inspiring and deeply motivating poetry collection for a better world.

A heavy read in it’s moments, Women Of Resistance is a collection of honest and refreshing poetry that makes you think and sometimes makes you smile, and if you need some feminist motivation to take on the world, this is the book for you.

(I received an ARC from Netgalley to review).
