Honestly, this book was great in some parts and I really liked the individual characters. It just was a slow start and felt kind of insta-lovey in a way that I don’t usually like. I am interested to read the next book.
i was kinda excited for this book because I’ve enjoyed one or two books by this author, but just like her last release (fire line), this was a letdown. I fear, a little success has gotten to her head.
Recycled plot, repetitive, very surface level romance written around tropes and smut, basically for TikTok. The characters had no depth, which wasn’t surprising and would’ve been fine if anything about the romance felt convincing, or if there was chemistry or banter between the characters, or anything interesting at all. There wasn’t, so it ended up being a disappointing waste of time, even with all the skim reading. I also feel like some parts were self-insert, which was cringe. The heroine was very meh, not that the hero was anything special either, but the ending is, I think, HFN. They’re married, she’s a bestselling author again, and she runs a publishing house or whatever. I just could not bring myself to care about this book.

I loved this booko. So, naturally, I have written and re-written this review so many times now because I want to talk about it all but can't find the perfect way to describe how I feel.
Book 1 and 2 (and I'm sure book 3) have been so beautifully written, I haven't been able to put them down.
Am I obsessed with the FMCs strength and independence? Yes.
Am I a sucker for a fire-fighter MMC? Also yes.
I don't know what else to say. Just...please read this series.
P.s. I think my favourite partis the treasure hunt. It brought a little something extra to the story while being a stunning catalyst to the other plot points, brining it all together and tying it off with a little bow .
