Not quite as "whoa" as the first novel, but I sense this is racing toward an epic ending in book 3.

Lada only gets more fierce with time. She will make Wallachia hers even if she kills everyone in her path. This book explained so much more and the character developed a lot in it. Another great book to the series.

Excuse my language but holy butts was that good.

Lada is still a vicious badass, and Radu is still a pure emotional cinnamon roll. And both of them are finally realizing what a dick Mehmed actually is.

Nazria and Lada's men are still amazing, and all the complaints I had about the last book have basically been fixed.

Now excuse as I go squeak over my new favorite couple while also crying about waiting for the next book to come out.

This book was a great sequel.
It was a bit sadder for me. In the first book we our antiheroine and hero slowly loosing their innocence in the face of the cruel world around them. In this one, Lada embraces what she believes to be the nature of the world, while Radu contemplates if it something that can be fought against... While being manipulated by Mehmed.
My heart breaks for both of them. Even Mehmed a little. But definitely Lada and Radu more.

I can't see this story having a happy ending. Honestly, Lada is giving me Lelouch vibes now with her stunt at the end. I want her to be happy. I desperately want Radu to be happy.

I am so pissed the library couldn't find their copy of the final book yesterday when I needed it

The end was the most interesting part maybe. Honestly, I expected more from this book. I hope the third one is better.
