Aiden and Saige are a barrels of laughs that is drowning in heart. My Lucky #13 goes for the gold and scores a win. Piper Rayne keeps it spicy by amping up the humor and emotion. A temptation I'll gladly read again and again.
I was so close to DNF-ing this one because of how *freaking* long it took for them to get together. I get that building up to the relationship is important and that the build-up can also be really fun but if we're 65% into the book and they haven't even so much as kissed then we have a bit of a problem.
This was not advertised as a slow-burn romance so it was just frustrating having to deal with them flip-flopping about wanting/not wanting to be together for over half the book.
And then once they finally do get together like 70% into the story, they almost immediately break up and then get back together again just as quickly?
This book wasted so much time in the build-up that the last quarter of the book felt rushed and unsatisfying.

It took about 80% for me to love this. I liked aiden more than Saige. I didn’t see their chemistry until they got together. But I liked it enough to continue on to the next book.

Why in the world would you have a male and a female narrator and then have them still read the opposite character's voice!? That is just weird AF! Anyway...
I don't know why I still read sports romances. Trying to find a great one is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but I persevere. The whole "plot" twist at the end grated my last nerve. If you aren't going to have a heavy character-driven book, then the plot MUST stand on its own! This one doesn't. I believed in Aidan and then he pulls that dumb ish?? Really??

It's fine. Middle of the road, and enjoyable enough when the FMC's BFF isn't on page. She's so annoying that at one point the MMC just gives her cash so she'll go the fuck away. I kinda wished I could do the same.

Aidan and Saige is just so cute. Their interactions and their wee little adventures around the cities Aidan visits is just so 🥹 they've completely swoon me as a couple. It's just a nice sweet book if you're looking for something nice. Their chemistry is so natural and not forced at all. Saige knows what she wants and has the backbone to stand up for herself. It's just such a sweet book and a little break from any dark and heavy romances

I don't really have any bad things to say about this book to be honest. It's just a nice wee sweet book. I wouldn't say it's AMAZING or anything but it's just nice.

Loved it
I really enjoyed this story its a very good start to the series that I am going to have to break down and buy. I normally only read free buys or KU but so far this book was good enough I'm ordering the next one.
