Superstitions, hockey, emotions and passion. My Lucky #13 is all that and more.

I absolutely love Aiden. He is in a slump and all it took was a glass of wine to the face and that slump had ended. Now he is determined to stay out of the slump, even if it means a glass of wine has to be thrown in his face before every game. Aiden is so much more than just a hockey player. He is the team captain, he is a great friend, uncle, brother, and son. He loves hockey but there is also a love he has for his family, especially his niece. Saige isn’t new to the sports world, however, after being burned in the past buy a boyfriend who also happened to be an athlete, she tends to stay away from them, even more so when they are also her client.

I loved the friendship that Aiden and Saige formed. While it was an odd start with her throwing the wine in his face, the more time they spent together it just grew into something. There was also a connection between them and a spark, but neither really acted upon it. Though chemistry can only be ignored for so long before things explode. There were some ups and downs to their relationship, plenty of steam and lots of laughs.

I adored the secondary characters who also happen to be Aiden’s teammates and best friends. I can’t wait to see where their stories go!

If you’re looking for a hockey romance this is one to check out!

Don't ask me why I am reading book 1 after I have already read almost all the other books in the series. For some reason, when I first started this series, I grabbed book 2 and just never circled back. So obviously I knew a little about this couple simply from reading the other books in the series. I still really enjoyed reading this one and going back in time. I just love hockey books and Piper Rayne nailed it! The friendships between players, the game time, the politics -- just everything to do with a hockey is portrayed so well. I only have the final book in the series left and I will be so sad when its over.

This was a match made in heaven for me. One of my favorite sports written by one of my favorite author duos, and my lucky number in the title, I had to pick it up as quickly as I could. It did not disappoint.

My Lucky #13, is the first book in an all new hockey sports romance. I was immediately a fan of both main characters and their world. Aiden and Saige immediately have chemistry but their first night together ends with a glass of wine thrown in his face. Aiden, is one of the few hockey players that has never had superstitions, that is until his season is rocky and trade rumors run rampant. When he has a good game the night after having wine in his face, he is finally convinced there's something to supersititons after all. He is determined to keep Saige around and in her good graces no matter the cost or how out of his comfort zone he has to go.

I loved these two from the get go and was constantly cheering for them. I couldn't get enough of their banter and I enjoyed the way they battled through every obstacle in their way to finally get their happily ever after.

This story is the perfect start to a new series and I can't wait for more Hockey Hotties coming soon!

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

3.5 stars!

My Lucky #13 is a really easy friends to lovers hockey romance, which has the steam and tension that I’ve come to expect from Piper Rayne’s books.

Aiden Drake is the captain of the Florida Fury hockey team who’s in a slump and at risk of being traded. When he meets Saige at a New Year’s Eve party, they instantly hit it off, until he finds out she’s his agent’s date, and she throws a drink in his face, but then plays the game of his life and thinks he’s broken his course of bad luck. Never one for superstitions, he believes it’s all down to Saige throwing the drink, and so starts a new ritual before every game. Saige runs the social media of sports stars, and needs a new star client, so in return for her help, Aiden agrees to be the face of her business. They begin a friendship, despite their mutual attraction, and Aiden keeps his distance because she’s his agent’s girl. But in reality, Saige is just protecting her heart, how will he react when he finds to the truth and had his luck really changed on the ice?

Aiden and Saige’s slow burn friends to lovers romance was so well written, I loved how they genuinely go to know each other before any more happened, no insta love relationship here. Their dynamic worked because Saige was so unimpressed with Aiden’s athletic status and Aiden liked that she liked him for him as a person, and not his career. They were there for each other in their times of need, whether to help them fulfil a silly superstition or to get them out of a situation with an ex, they really cared about each other. The secondary characters were well developed too, I can’t wait for the stories about the Aiden’s teammates. My only dislike was how quickly everything seemed to end, it felt very sudden and I would’ve liked a lot more grovelling from Aiden. The whole thing felt very rushed and left a few loose ends which I was disappointed with, but I loved the build up to their relationship so much, I am overlooking the ending! Overall a great start to this new hockey romance series by Piper Rayne!

I was excited to read My Lucky #13 after reading Countdown to a Kiss and learning that Piper Rayne was going to do their first hockey romance.

Aiden and Saige met at a New Year's Eve party where they had a connection but when she throws a drink in his face and he realizes she is with his agent that is where things end. Until Aiden starts playing amazingly well. Now he has to track down Saige and convince her to throw a drink in his face before every game.

I really enjoyed Aiden and Saige's story. It was fun and entertaining. Aiden was so much more than just a hockey player. I love that Aiden and Saige developed an amazing friendship prior to the connection. The chemistry between them got so hot it could not be ignored. I can not wait for more from the Hockey Hotties series.

It felt as though we were two lost puzzle pieces who found each other in a land of misfits.

𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: sport romance (hockey), he falls first, friends to lovers

This is the first book I've read written by Piper Rayne and I really liked it.

Saige is a social media for athletes. At first, she promised herself that she would never have a relationship with an athlete, especially after the pain her ex caused her, but all this changes. When she meets Aiden, her world turns upside down and makes her realize that there are also good athletes.

Aiden is a NHL professional hockey player who has not score in the last 8 games played. He never believed in superstitions until one night before a match when he spent all his time with a woman. Since then he spends more and more time with her and continues to do what he did that night to bring him luck in the next matches.

The relationship between Saige and Aiden was a natural one.  They spent time until they became friends, but when the feelings became so strong and could no longer be kept under control, their story began to heat up even more.

I can't wait to read the next books in this series. I have a feeling that I will like those as much as this one.

I am beginning to feel that Piper Rayne cannot write a bad book. There isn't a single story by them that didn't made me feel all the feels. And then they come along with this sports romance brilliance! My Lucky #13 is sexy, sweet, and full of laughs. I loved it. Piper Rayne have this witty, smart and honest way of telling stories that win my heart every single time.

I was really hooked into this slow-burn romance. Aiden and Saige’s story is a fun, charming, and addictively captivating read that had me swooning every step of their journey. I loved the dynamic between these two likable characters and enjoyed all the laughs they brought me, as well as the emotionally charged moments.

Delightfully funny and entertaining as heck...this was a fantastic start to this new series and I simply can't wait to see what is in store for Maksim and Ford.
