This was my first book by Piper Rayne, and I really enjoyed it. It was also my first hockey romance.
One of the top players for the Florida Fury is Aiden. However, when he goes through a scoring slump and goes nine games without scoring, things start to change. When he scores on a game night, everyone is curious as to how he broke out of his rut. When he thinks about it, the only difference is that he got white wine thrown in his face at a New Year's Eve party by Saige, who happened to be his agent's date.
Saige and Aiden were really adorable. It was a pleasure to read about Aiden because he was such a gentleman. It was lovely how he approached Saige. Saige had the nicest personality—she was kind and had a wonderful personality. As the social media manager for professional athletes, she had to deal with them throughout her career, thus she had a strong backbone. Their chemistry was fantastic, and it was lovely to watch as their friendship and feelings for one another grew. I also liked the supporting characters. They added to the story and made more enjoyable.

Piper Rayne has once again started off a new series with a bang! This book had me from the first chapter to the last with the witty banter, scorching chemistry and swoon-worthy story I couldn't put down. Aiden and Saige were fun-loving, flirtatious and so sweet you can't help but fall in love with them. I also loved done secondary characters such as Tedi which I hope gets her own book because that woman was hilarious!! If you love a fun sports romcom then you'll definitely love this book!
4.25/5
hockey romances really hold a special place in my heart…
i randomly found this series and decided to start it, i was pleasantly surprised. i loved how aiden wasn’t a complete ass because sometimes authors try to make the hero’s rude when there’s no reason. saige was also great, i loved her attitude and how she didn’t take shit from aiden. tedi was the perfect side character and i want to be like her. the tension between aiden and saige for the first half of the book was amazing, i couldn’t wait until they finally gave into each other. i liked how the book was low drama and it wasn’t unrealistic. that being said i hated how the coach and owner would talk about aiden’s slump. they acted like he was the only one on the team that could score or win a game and that was really annoying. also the nhl season is long so losing one or two games in a row happens to even the best teams. joran was kinda an ass and i hate his name so i hate him because of that.
i cant wait to read fords book but maksims is next so i will probably read that fast!! overall this is a really good start to the series !

Piper Rayne didn’t just dip their toes into the sports romance trope they dived head first. It was AMAZING! Aiden and Saige were perfect they had banter and shared some very hot moments. Get the fire extinguisher because they two were on fire and had so much chemistry it was leaping off the pages. Piper Rayne nailed this book and I can’t wait for book two! Let the countdown continue!
Aiden Drake has always been known as Lucky and has never believed in superstitions until he got in a slump and is now on the trading block for the Florida Fury. Yet everything changes when his agent's girlfriend throws wine in his face on New Year's Eve and now Aiden is convinced that's what is going to turn his season around.
Saige Fowler is not into watching sports but as someone who's business revolves around social media and sports stars, she knows enough. She is shocked when Aiden comes asking for her help and in turn will allow her to use him as a client.
Yet the chemsitry between Aiden and Saige is intense but with her dating his agent, he knows he can't cross the line.
