it was so good till the end, way to easy forgiveness and ngl hated how little developpment tedi got

Loved this book. Aiden and Saige's story captures you from that first page. Hockey, romance, chemistry, and so much more. This didn't disappoint. It's an amazing read. Definitely recommend it. Looking forward to the next in this series.

Even though it’s not necessary, I highly recommend reading Countdown to a Kiss before starting this one, because it leaves off where this one picks up! If you’ve read Countdown to a Kiss you already know that Aiden’s New Year’s Eve didn’t really go the way he was hoping it would. The act that takes place between Saige and Aiden on New Year’s quickly becomes a superstition and turns into a unique, unusual, and hilarious ritual between them. There was an intense, immediate attraction and connection between these two and as they spend more time together, the tension builds to extreme amounts before it finally snaps!

I adored how much Aiden acted like a gentleman! He’s respectful of certain boundaries and chivalrous. He’s not self centered, and doesn’t take advantage of Saige’s kindness. He realizes how he might be inconveniencing her with their routine, so he offers up an extremely vulnerable part of his life in exchange for her help. When he realizes he might have messed up and caused certain judgments to be placed on Saige, he’s quick to correct it, and not afraid to embarrass himself to make things right.

During the conflict, it didn’t take too long for the characters to come to their senses and the conflict was resolved easily, without the angst being drawn out. The epilogue doesn’t take place years in the future, but rather immediately after the last chapter. Hoping to see more of this couple and get glimpses of them throughout the rest of the series! I’m also really curious about Tweetie and Tedi’s relationship and wish we could get a story about them!

Favorite Quotes:
I look at the last of the wine bottle and wave it in front of Saige. “Come on. Finish me off.” -Aiden

“Triplets?” I ask.
“Identical,” Aiden says. “I bet you’re scared right now.”
A little, because do multiples run in their family? We’re far from that point in our relationship, but I can’t help that my mind went there.

I was with you on the first second of this year and I want to be with you on the last second of my time here on this earth.
-Aiden

Aiden Drake, the captain of the Florida Fury hockey team, has never believed in superstitions like the rest of his team, but he has been in a slump for 8 games and is a rock throw away from being traded.
When he meets Saige Fowler, the woman who changes his pre-game routine, at a New Year’s Eve party and he scores big in the next game, his teammates convince him he needs to stick to whatever they did in order to keep the winning streak.
Of course, he’ll track her down and beg her to do it again and, when the trick pays up, it’s time to make arrangements to keep the deal going and Aiden safe for the season.
What is a Piper Rayne fan to say? Aiden and Saige are one of those couples you fall in love with. And their friends are even better. The more I read, the more Tedi reminded me of Lennon and the guys are just the worst sidekicks anyone could want, but in a good way.
This is one of those stories that will stick with me. Aiden is a lonely guy that doesn’t see himself in a relationship during his time in the NHL and Saige has been badly burned and is not looking forward to getting her heart broken again, but the attraction is there since the moment they meet and there is no way around it when they start spending time together as the season progresses.
I really enjoyed these characters, their backstories and I swooned over their love story.

5 super lucky stars

good, but honestly nothing that I was obsessed with. I really enjoyed Saige, the fmc. I like that she was strong and also didn't take shit from Aiden just because he was a hockey player lol. i found the reason for the third act break up pretty annoying however I did like the grand gesture, very cute. overall good time reading it, but felt a little lack luster but thats just my opinion.

Holy hockey hotness!

Man, I love a good hockey romance. The men are hot, the women are feisty, the chemistry on and off the ice gets your adrenaline pumping. It’s just good reading.

Saige and Aiden were so freaking adorable together. For someone who doesn’t use social media, Aiden sure knows how to make a girl’s heart race! I was a little perturbed with Saige at first because of the way she was trying to guard her heart from Aiden (ie. using Joran as an excuse) but I get that she was hurt by an athlete in the past so she was scared. But at the same time, people get hurt by others all the time, regardless of their profession, so saying “you don’t date athletes” is just a poor excuse for “I don’t want to get my heart broken by ANYONE ever again”. I’m glad she ended up taking a chance on Aiden, he was such a good guy.

There was definite angst in this one, but I’m glad it was resolved quickly. Aiden totally was a douche, but I’m happy Saige was able to look past it. People screw up sometimes!

Really fun story. 10/10 would recommend.

This was pretty good but the social media stuff was a bit awkward to read about. Overall not bad at all, I’ll read more.
