I’m really torn on this one. I loved the humor, and the writing is fun and quick. But there are some tropes here that are not handled well.
Having the main female lead be a curvy body type and then conveniently become skinny by the end of the book is… a choice. The way that Olive’s weight is talked about, both by her and other characters, was distasteful and cheap. The conflict between the two leads had the potential to be interesting, but the way Ethan handled it was pretty unforgivable to me. The authors took it a step too far, and making Olive reconcile with him left a bad taste in my mouth.
I like the authors’ style, but I’ll be leery going into the next book I try by them.

Very very predictable. Cute like a cheesy romcom, but very predictable.

I finally have a break to read so I've been on a binge reading books that I've been wanting to read for a while. Before reading this book I finished the Renegades series by Merissa Meyer so I just wanted to read a fun stand-alone. Even though we're having a snowstorm warning where I live, it was good to escape into the warm setting of this book.
The actual book and story itself were good with some weak spots. I can understand how Olive thinks about what happens around her but there were times when I was just as confused as Ethan. I like the banter between the two main characters but the conflicts felt like they were avoidable or could have been dealt with differently. Without conflict, a book is boring but it felt like one moment Olive and Ethan couldn't get enough of each other and then the next moment they are back to square one.
The things I liked about the book were the cliches and again the enemies-to-lovers trope which is what drew me to the book in the first place. I loved the scenery of the snuba scene and how the author describes their surroundings. I am still fairly new to reading compared to most so I have yet to be bogged down by tropes and things that are repeated a lot in romances so I enjoyed reading the book but I don't think I will read it again.

And also Dane got what he deserved for what he did to Ami, Ethan and Olive
I absolutely adored this book! From the very first chapter, I knew The Unhoneymooners was going to be my kind of rom-com—funny, swoony, and full of the kind of banter that makes you fall hard for the characters. I laughed so much while reading this, and at one point, I was grinning so hard my face hurt.
Olive is such a relatable main character—her sarcasm, bad luck, and inner monologue had me cracking up. And then there’s Ethan… ugh, I wanted to dislike him at first (because Olive sure does), but let’s be real—I fell for him fast. Their enemies-to-lovers dynamic was everything. The way they bickered, the tension, the forced proximity on a free honeymoon in Maui? Perfection. The fake-married moments had me cackling, and their slow-burn romance gave me butterflies.
The setting was another huge win for me. I felt like I was right there with them in Hawaii, sipping tropical drinks and watching their relationship unfold. And can we talk about how fun the entire premise is? The idea of being stuck on a luxury honeymoon with someone you can’t stand (or think you can’t stand) was just so entertaining to read.
I’m only knocking off half a star because the third-act drama made me want to scream into a pillow. I so badly wanted the characters to communicate instead of jumping to conclusions. But honestly? That’s such a small gripe because I devoured this book and had the best time reading it.
If you love enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, laugh-out-loud banter, and the kind of romance that makes you feel something, you need to pick this one up. It was the perfect escape, and now I just want to reread it and live in this story all over again!
