If you told me the characters in this book were all teenagers I would believe you. Everyone was so insanely childish. I needed a lot more female rage from Sloane and it needed to be directed at Naomi. A great example of just because you’ve been friends forever doesn’t mean you need to remain friends. Rachel Harrison always has insta love romances, but this one was way too insta for me to take.

The vampire elements were also severely lacking. The horror aspects felt like an afterthought. The vampire/horror plot and romance/friendship/general life plots felt like they were taking place in two entirely separate books.

Definitely not her best work - skip this one.

I could not get into this book. It was two friends fighting the whole time, then they become vampires and just this endless cycle of fighting about quenching their vampire needs.

Sloane is given a birthday getaway with her best friend from her husband for her birthday. Sloane is excited because she hasn’t seen Naomi much and wants to catch up. Things are going well until they meet a group of people and things get spicy.

this book had a lot of potential but fell flat for me in a number of ways. for one, there really isn’t a plot to the book. things just sort of happen a bit randomly and chaotically. Sloane got on my nerves and was so whiny throughout. She wasn’t a risk taker or adventurous, albeit fair.

overall, it was still a fun vampire read and had some humor to it to keep me going.

Really enjoyed listening to the audiobook for this. These two friends and their relationship are the main focus and really show their differences as individuals, but sharing the same tribulations. It was a fun read and I enjoy seeing the perspective of how conflicted it is it embrace vampirism.
