It was so bland. The plot was unengaging, the love subplot was rapid and uninimaginative

If Thelma and Louise were in their mid-thirties and wildly insecure. This was an interesting read. I’m going to be thinking about the ending for a while.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC!
My Review
So Thirsty was so unhinged, I loved it! This book was such a compulsive, addicting read. It also features the most dysfunctional and co-dependent vampire family to ever exist.Sloane and Naomi’s friendship was very believable to me. (I’m the introverted, people-pleaser with codependency issues who has settled because of the fear of rocking the boat and a tendency to be a push over). It was interesting to see how each of them handled the transition to becoming vampires. Sloane is trying to maintain her sense of control over everything while Naomi is wanting let loose damn the consequences. However, their attempts at normalcy fail when they leave a trail of bodies in their wake. But they find solace with their new vamp family (and lovers). At the heart, this is the story about a woman learning to break away from a toxic relationship that allowed her to maintain the status quo and embrace a new identity.
What worked for me:
✓ Female friendship
✓ Witty banter
✓ Found family
✓ Snowy atmosphere
✓ BLOODY
What didn’t work for me:
X Theme of aging was not as touched on as I expected and wish it had went deeper.
____
Memorable Quotes
“I never envied her adventurousness. I was bold in my own way, until I decided not to be. But there’s an ugliness percolating in my chest, a venomous resentment rising from the depths.”
“There are icicles dripping, long and sharp, winter’s teeth. These are the kind that kill people. The kind that leave death in the snow.”
“I couldn’t think of a better hangout for a bunch of unhinged, ancient vampires.”
“Okay, but not being cannibals or child murderers is a pretty low bar.”

wtf?! I just got approved for an ARC on Netgalley. *passes away*
