I have to give it a 1 because I DNFd at 35%. I really wanted to love this book. It had vampires and an author I love recommended it, however it just fell flat. Naomi was enough to make me almost instantly stop listening. The narrator rolled her R’s so much it felt like a bad valley girl impersonation. Unfortunately I couldn’t keep going to figure out if either of the girls had any sort of growth happen. I stuck it out with Such Sharp Teeth, but I’m feeling like this would be the same. Very monotone.

If Rachel Harrison has no more fans, then I'm dead. I love the way Harrison does feminist horror. This was so gruesome and so full of love.

I just love all of her books so much. Crying as I write this cause I wish it wasn’t over

Another great Rachel Harrison read! I always enjoy her books and in this one, she tackles vampires, and I loved her take on them.

I don’t think Rachel Harrison ever misses for me. Somewhere between Twilight, Thelma and Louise, and a sprinkling of What We Do in the Shadows, So Thirsty touches on the trials of aging while not truly knowing what it is to be “grown”, old habits, impulses, passion or lack thereof, found family and friendships that last lifetimes. Without a doubt, this is my favorite read of the year. I can’t wait to see what this author does next.
