It’s not the books fault. It was good but I just could not find it in myself to care for the charactersespecially after finishing fourth wing

Flirt is a fun, heartwarming “situationship” romance. Brooke has been burned romantically and is looking for a fake date for social events. Moss is a sweet, aloof, consummate bachelor. Flirt is a workplace romance about a relationship that develops from a lovely, goofy friendship. Moss and Brooke have a witty banter-filled friendship and a make a great team professionally. When Moss finds out Brooke is in a pinch, he jumps to her aid. Flirt is a delightful romcom with a lot of heart. I loved the Carmichael family. Their warmth, kindness, and endless shenanigans are absolutely charming. Moss is charismatic, kind-hearted and silly. I love the sibling dynamic of the brothers. The Carmichael brothers are outrageously hilarious.
Lance Greenfield and CJ Bloom gave wonderful performances in the Flirt audiobook. CJ Bloom is one of my favorite narrators. She gives a fantastic performance bringing Brooke to life in Flirt. Her narration of Brooke is enchanting, sultry, and completely lovable. Lance’s narration of Moss was clever, funny, seductive, and sweet. Grab your tissues and snuggle in for an emotional listen. CJ and Lance give gut-wrenching, powerfully emotional performances. This was my first Adriana Locke book, and it won’t be my last. I’m totally hooked on these Carmichael HEAs. This book kicks off an awesome new series. I couldn't put this one down. I can tell you already the Carmichael family has already stolen my heart. I loved this friends to lovers, fake relationship romance. Moss and Brooke had me gobbling up the pages. Their banter was one of my favorite parts of the book. You can already feel the connection between them before the good stuff starts. This book had plenty of humor especially when you get the Carmichael boys together. Their hijinks are pretty hilarious. This book also had plenty of heart and feels. Moss is going to have you swooning because I know he had me swooning big time. Brooke pulled on my heartstrings with her family. There are few family members I want to knock some sense into. This is a book you want to gobble up the pages, but also one you do not want to end. The characters just draw you right into the story. I really can't wait for more from this series!

That was what I needed! A cute love story with likable characters and a big, loving family in the background.
It was more friends to lovers than fake dating, and that’s maybe for the best. I always thought the whole fake dating concept rather silly (even if I usually end up liking the book anyway). There was not much faking here, these two just needed a little push to get together and their relationship was so sweet! Moss was funny, romantic and hot which is just a perfect mix. I loved Brooke, I loved how she focused on her own happiness and took pride in being happy with or without a boyfriend. That takes some guts!
I didn’t love their drama, but I usually don’t like made up reasons why people who love each other can’t be together, so I’m just happy it was over soon.
Just one question; what’s with the penguins?? Is Sam from Atypical texting Moss?

This one might be difficult for people with traumas. This one was trying to kick up my anxiety. For me, toxic family and playing "pranks" or "giving someone a hard time" are issues. It's also a big part of why this one is hard to rate. Take out the families? Yes, both, I'll get to that. I'd likely rate it higher. Obviously I don't like the toxic side but the other one came off as too much to me. Living close, walking in without knocking? Yea, no thanks. Toxic or in your face, there was no happy medium. Much like the previous book I read, by a different author, not fond of how this author went about the breakup point in this one. 2 people in the middle of meltdowns, on a drive, trying to have a serious conversation?? Like, really?
I am not a big fan of weird names in attempt to be unique. File Moss into this category. I feel like if the families were less of a part, maybe the "love story" would have been better. I sure didn't like his family meddling in attempt to get them together. It seems weird that with a family you can't trust (pranks) the he would blindly trust them when he's told to meet at a certain location wearing a certain cap. It seemed like fake dating was just an excuse just to fast forward the story. Like one second hey, we're pretending to date, then oh hey, I've liked you since day one. And let's not forget Moss' trauma. His loving family never realized he needed therapy? I forget how old he's supposed to be, but for half his life he didn't say "I love you"? Does that include his family, based on how it's presented??
Another annoying thing? That take the blanket off the baby non-sense... once was plenty. More than once, overkill. There was really no other phrase to be used? How did no one catch it was overused? For me, it's odd. I've never heard it before. Going from I've never heard it, to seeing it multiple times in the same book...
