"I'd walk into a lion's den for you, which I just did. Go to jail, which I surprisingly managed not to do tonight. Open myself up to you in ways I never have. In ways that I'm afraid to, for you. And you don't want that? You don't want what I'm willing to give you? Because I'll give it all to you, Brooke. I'll give you all of me." I present to you Moss Carmichael 😭❤

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this one!! ❤❤❤ it's the kind of story that teaches you that love comes in different forms. People who make you work hard for their attention, or keep you hanging, threatening to pull out of your life at the smallest inconvenience aren't worthy of your time, and this book portrayed that perfectly ❤

I simply fell for Moss's charm and humor 🤣❤ he could be annoying to be around for Brooke during their friendship era, but even then, he was so extremely caring and supportive. Their chemistry and partnership were so obvious from the very start. Moss hid behind the facade of a player, and Brooky (as he loved to call her 🤣) believed that to be his real nature, but the man had so much love and warmth to offer that it left her jaw dropped 😭❤

Brooke's family (other than her grandma ❤) consisted of a bunch of shameless, worthless, insecure, filthy, hypocritical poor excuses of humans. Her mother was the queen of failures and made her life a living nightmare. It took Brooklyn a lot of courage to choose her happiness and well-being and decide to cut ties with the wicked Witch of the West for good. She deserved to be loved, admired, and proud of, and the Carmichael family included her as one of their own ❤

First in the series, second one I’ve read. Not as much fun for me, but there was still plenty of fun along side the more serious emotional bits. I love the Carmichael family dynamics.

Warm, loving, crazy, meddling family
Mostly awful despicable family
Friendly coworkers to fake dating to lovers
Some pretty wonderful people to balance out the horrendous family
House flipping
Dual POV

I loved this one! For all that Brooke's family is complete trash, I loved knowing that she had Moss' family there to have her back. This story had the right amount of feels and spice to keep the pages turning!

Ok. I absolutely loved this book! It was just so beautifully vulnerable. The connection to the characters was everything I could have hoped for. I did cry at one point and I also laughed so of course it’s a 5 star rating from me.

The way Moss built Brooke up and did everything in his power to make sure she knew she was special had me swooning. This not so fake dating romance had everything you could ask for; sugar, spice and everything nice. They were just so suited towards each other it felt I knew the characters and was watching them fall in love in real life.

I absolutely adored this book.

If the blurb is not enough to convince you to read this book, actually the whole series. I’ll let you know that Moss’s family is a comedy! His relationship with his brothers and mother are so wholesome! ❤️

The banter was GREAT. I LOVE the family dynamics with the brothers all up in each other’s business. The love and support from their parents is phenomenal.

I liked Brooke and Moss and their friendship. Her mother was a piece of work. Everything was moving at a nice pace, but it felt a little rushed at the end. I’m going to be honest, the conflict didn’t land right with me. I could see it coming and I still felt like it shouldn’t have gone down that way. These two were so honest with each other that it felt, to me, like this couple would have been better served by not being apart but having the mature emotional conversation they eventually do have. I don’t know.

All in all, it was a fun read and I’m off to the next book in the series!

Okay, I've been ready for the Carmichael brothers since Paige introduced us to her big and boisterous family in SWEET, and author Adriana Locke has fully delivered in FLIRT, the first book in her new Carmichaels series.

It's not unusual to fall in love with Addy's characters from first meeting, so it's no surprise that I am already half in love with ALL of the Carmichael boys, AND their parents. So many personalities, so many shenanigans, so much love...how could any of us readers not want to be a part of it?

The dynamic between Brooke Bailey and Moss Carmichael is already wonderful. Friends that flirt, because both have plenty of emotional baggage, and neither one wants to ruin a good thing. Until...until Brooke needs a plus-one, and friends and family step in to make sure that that happens. I don't want to give any spoilers, so will just say that romance lovers and Addy lovers will most definitely not want to miss how things shake out for these two.

One of the things that I look most forward to in Adriana's books is the family dynamic. This, along with the always entertaining best friend hijinx, makes for books that make me feel good, that bring all of the emotions in the very best ways, and that I will remember for a very long time. I am still thinking about this book, and absolutely cannot wait to see what's in store for the rest of this family. Make sure that FLIRT is on your TBRI (to be read immediately!) list, because you will absolutely love it. ❤️

Listened to the audiobook, and I love CJ Bloom; she is phenomenal.

The toxicity written into this book was outstanding. This is one of those "you can't make this shit up" kind of toxic. My goodness.

Brooke's family is terrible, and I'm surprised that she turned out to be the mildly, well developed adult that she was. We all have our issues, yanno? Anyways, Brooke was funny, hard working, and really adorable.

Moss and his family were so funny. I loved the pranks that they played on one another throughout the story. Moss was such a golden retriever MMC, and it has everything to go with his Mom. That fantastic woman.

I loved the found family aspect. Brooke's family was ASS so Moss' family folded her into their group so easily. It was really sweet.

The way Brooke's grandma was portrayed, I'm gonna miss her when she's gone.

I'm excited for the rest of this series.
