Second in series and I knew who the murderer was in this one too!

I’ve been listening to these Anne Perry books as I work on my house, mostly because they are immediately available from the library. They are quite formulaic and always seems to end abruptly, but I enjoy the protagonists well enough and it’s kind fun to revisit Victorian England and all the changes that went on socially during that time. But I’m looking forward to being finished with this house and picking up an actual book.

Eh. Did not finish. I thought this was about Thomas and Charlotte. However, they are hardly in it at all :(

Unread shelf project 2021: book 19.

An early book in the Thomas & Charlotte Pitt series, I enjoyed this one more than later books in either series (Pitt or Monk). It felt like Gossip Girl + murder in 19th century England and as such, it was very satisfying.

But also — my parting thought:

Anne Perry's mysteries are so entertaining!! Escape to another time and solve a crime with the entirely likeable Charlotte and Thomas Pitt! Fun, engaging, and quick.

Too many people to keep track of and too much gossip.
