By far my favorite book of the series!!! I loved Max but Xander takes the cake!! And Bronson’s letter to Xavier while in the hospital…tears and explains so much!! Def a 5 star read!!

Nicci Harris doesn’t disappoint as an author.

Every single book in the Kids of the District series is impeccable. Getting to review an ARC of the final book in the series was an absolute dream.

It is an engrossing tale that provides a perfect tie up to all of the story lines in the Butcher family. There were moments I cried, laughed, and fell in love alongside the female protagonist.

Each Butcher brother brings something different to the table and the reader is left trying to decide which she would choose. There’s a little to love in each guy. We could all use a Butcher boy.

Thank you, Nicci Harris, for bringing us into the District. It’s bittersweet this is over.

As usual, Nicci out does herself with this book. I absolutely loved it so much. yet, at the same time i was trying to read it very slowly knowing this was the last book to this series. A series that I hold near and dear to my heart. The Butcher Boys are amazing. The tribe of Butcher Girls just as awesome, one that I am lucky and happy to be a part of.

OMG, I thought I was ready for Xander's story, but nothing prepared me for the emotions I had reading this book. Max is still my favorite, but Xander is right up there now. All I wanted to do was to hold him. He found a good one in Kaya. Loved her wildcat, feisty side to her.

While I did not cry, I almost lost it towards the end with Bronson's letter and when all of the Butcher Boys were hanging out talking about family and their futures. A fitting ending to this beloved series.

This is one of the most heartbreaking story I've read in a good while.

Every book in this series gave me heartbreak but this.. This one. I thought Bronson broke me (he's still my fave) but this one.. Xander just want to be loved, heard and listened to.

Its like the universe knew what X needed and here comes Kaya. Her world was just dumped on its head and here comes Xander.

What is it with authors and putting the best ones in hospitals? I can't handle it. I read until 1am bawling my eyes out so much my husband wakes up and I have to explain why I'm crying.

The time line was quick and it was almost live at first(second) sight. To me Xander feels younger than he actually is, it's his personality really and Kaya is just.. Kaya.

They are so very intense together and I loved every second.

I received an ARC and I'm giving my honest opinion in this review.

First Konnor And Blis Stole A Piece Of My Heart, Followed By Max And Cassidy Who Took A Piece, Bronson… Bronson And Shoshana Took A Little Bit Bigger Piece, Clay And Fawn Also Took A Piece Of My Heart, But Xander & Kaya They May Have Taken A Whole Chunk.

Xander & Kaya’s Story Was Heartbreaking And Beautiful All Wrapped Up Together. It Holds You Captive From Start To Finish. The Minute I Started I Didn't Put It Down Until The Very Last Page.

So Go Home, Grab A Bottle Of Wine Curl Up And Read Xander And Kaya's Story! You Wont Regret It.

I ended up liking this book way more than I had anticipated when I first started reading. Kaya is a strong willed character who drives her own life narrative and I loved this about her, It balanced out her privileged and high maintenance characteristics. Xander is a sweet, protective hotheaded hero with a filthy mouth and a huge heart. I often find that mafia romances can be shallow but Nicci did a great job of bringing some depth to the story with the characters personal struggles and family dynamics. I was not expecting this book to be as emotional as it was. Nicci really pulls you in until you’re so invested you’re crying and hurting with the characters. I typically hate the virgin FMC trope but I like how she handled it in this book. Kaya was a virgin because she chose to be and she decided when and with who she would lose it. Also Kaya was not written as some innocent or naive character and I loved that! I loved that Xander was such an emotional character, a person who not only felt all his feelings but wanted to be able to express them. It made me fall that much harder for him -sigh! The ending is a bitter sweet happy ending but it left me feeling a little somber. While this is the final book in the series I was so intrigued by the side characters and their back stories that I will be reading the entire series because I just loved all the brothers and I need to know their stories. This book was probably one of the best mafia romances I have read so far. And the smut is chefs kiss!
