So now I have been introduced to the works of Nathaniel Hawthorne.
This is probably not Ione of his better known works, but who am I to say, I mean I barely know the geezer.
I know two books he has written, but anyway this is the first of his I have read.
It was OK, nothing wrong with it, a bit weird, but you know t was better than some, and not as good as others.
Such is life.
Such an erudite review I know, but what do you want for free?

like…..yeah. i read this i guess.
it wasn’t necessarily bad, however, i did. want it to end faster than it did. and it was only 48 pages. interesting religious allegory, nothing particularly spellbinding. sorry nath!

Dark. Creepy. Meaningful.

Excellent short story. Hawthorne's descriptive style is AMAZING.

This was so promising but the ending absolutely spoiled the entire thing for me.

This may have been the most melodramatic piece of literature I've ever read.

A great allegory of man becoming wiser and thus seeing the true face of himself, religion and the society around him. "Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise."

read for school, love it

When my English tutor, Rob, told me this was about witchcraft I was really looking forward to reading it.

Rob - what is this shit, sir!!! I had to read the summary after so I could make some sense of it lmao. This was a major flop.
