This is a really interesting and creepy story. The symbolism knocks you over the head, but I found that kind of charming, like maybe it was intentionally tongue-in-cheek.
Li pra aula então nem tem muito o que falar, mas fiquei surpreendida demais quando li da primeira vez antes das análises todas e tal
3.5 out of 5 stars.
Quite an interesting short story—it's not super amazing or anything, but it wasn't boring either.
+ Relatively easy to read, especially for such an old story
+ Low-key reminded me of A Christmas Carol
+ I should read The Scarlet Letter. Hawthorne's writing is pretty good.

WOW, is this boring as hell. This was the first thing I ever read by hawthorne and if i didn't have slight interest in the scarlet letter, it probably would be my last. I enjoyed the writing style, though it was nothing special. Plus, I had to read this for school and do this literary project thing on it (my group wanted to do a different book, you were allowed to do a different book as long as it was required reading, that would also fit the literary criticism but our teacher mad us choose this so that was fun). the plot is nothing interesting, I have seen Supernatural episodes that handle similar subject matter better than this. So yea, thats about it
read for class and it’s actually pretty interesting. made me understand puritanism way quicker than all the textbooks and essays. also, loved the eeriness Yup
Reminded me of the Witch (2016), so I really enjoyed. V spooky.
I adore Nathaniel Hawthorne's writing, he is an incredible voice of the early American frontier and writes with such power and conviction. His words are still relevant and empowering as they were the day he wrote them.
