I think I finished this book... It really is a Choose Your Own Adventure, so I read it like I always read those--happily following one path while regretting not following another, and going back to see what I missed instead of actually following the directions all the way through. NPH is hilarious and the book has a great range of types of stories, from getting outed/coming out to getting famous to secretly getting a surrogate. And he dishes on Anne Heche (spoiler alert: she's cuckoo), which was fun. For nighttime reading (read: fall asleep reading) it's a little tricky to find your place again, but that's not so much the book's fault as the sleepy reader's.

It's exactly the type of book you would expect from NPH. It is a fun and zany book. I read several different paths before reading it cover to cover because I couldn't stand missing a chapter. It is crazy and amazing and I loved every second.
I gave three stars for the story of his life which could have been much more entertaining if not for the format of the book; that lost it the other two. I loved the choose your own adventure series as a child but in this genre it was frustrating and I struggled to finish it. What a shame.
A very entertaining autobiography. Fans of NPH will enjoy taking this journey through both fiction and non-fiction as they choose their own adventure. I will admit, as much as I enjoyed it, the style did get frustrating at times since I wanted to make sure I read every bit. I suggest reading your way through choosing your adventure first, then go back and flip through to make sure you didn't miss anything - which you probably will. Still a great read!
Cute concept for an autobiography, particularly the few dead-end paths where "you" as Neil Patrick Harris choose wrong and end up consumed by quicksand or stuck in a dead-end deli job. I wish there'd maybe been a bit more of that. This is a pretty squeaky-clean, wholesome memoir, full of upbeat positivity and charmed-life adventures, so it's kind of lacking in drama, but there are a handful of colorful, fun stories, and certainly Neil Patrick Harris' personality comes through. Even though this was written by someone else on NPH's behalf, it's pretty easy to hear it in his voice. Kind of trivial, not particularly revelatory, but lively and fun.
This was a wildly creative memoir. I got to the end four times before actually reading the entire book. NPH has told his story in such a unique way that completely captivates you.
However, I did have extreme anxiety the entire time because I was so afraid I would miss something amazing he had written for us. Either way, this book has gotten more love and page turns than anything else on my shelf.
A true 5-star auto-biography.

Neil Patrick Harris is a great Story teller. I listed to the Audiobook and his voice acting for it was on point. I loved the added audio from a school monologue and the PDF concept with recipes. It was a fun listen but the core of the story was a bit weak. I would have liked to hear more about being on set as a kid, being a phenomon, etc.m but tha any which way it was entertaining and worth a read.
