So funny - So much fun to read! Possibly the most enjoyable autobiography I've ever read.
What a fun way to share your life with us. And, yes, I would be one of those random people who would first acknowledge you as "Doogie Howser."
Very good book love the chose your own adventure format.
I got this book for my birthday and I was so excited!! NPH just knows how to tickle my funny bone. I learned a lot about his personal life. This book is funny, heartfelt, and cleverly written. Next time I will follow along with "making my own autobiography."
Like NPH, I also loved reading Choose Your Own Adventure books as a child. This autobiography is honest, funny and genuine. It gives you a glimpse into Neil Patrick Harris' private life, told through anecdotes, letters from friends and the occasional wrong turn. It also includes instructions for some of NPH's favorite things: magic tricks and recipes.

Just when I thought I couldn't be a bigger fan of NPH, I listen to his amazing audiobook and fall even more in love with him. I've become somewhat of an expert on celebrity memoir audiobooks over the past year, and I'd have to say that NPH's is one of the most creative/inventive that I've experienced so far. The "Choose your own adventure" style was a little awkward in audiobook format, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. As most memoirs, it contained all of the usual awkward childhood moments, struggles with adolescence, fun celebrity encounters, etc.. but one of my favorite parts was the recording of his "Optimism Speech," the magic tricks, and the story of his 40th birthday.
Overall a lot of fun, and it reminded me that I really need to finish HIMYM (it was really hard avoid spoilers).

So I listened to the audio version of this book since it was narrated by Neil himself. Overall I thought it was a pretty good autobiography. It was funny, sincere, and honest. Parts of it were a bit silly because since it's a choose your own autiobiography there are fake endings and stories. I admit that having the audio version has pros and cons. Pros are that NPH narrates it himself and there's even actual sound footage of his speeches. Cons are that you can't skip around in a normal choose your own adventure book cause it's an audiobook so you have to listen to everything. But it can be fun especially during Neil's "if you want to hear about your tragic and untimely death keep listening" parts.
I may have to get the physical copy of the book just to see the differences.
